Today we talked about standard units of measurement, why we have significant figures, and the two types of errors.

This weekend please get a lab notebook, preferably with graph paper pages.

Next week we’ll be doing little labs to get familiar with equipment. For homework, think of ways to measure the following that would reduce errors the most:

• Time for a ball to fall a certain distance
• Distance a projectile travels
• mass of small objects

Winding Down

Well, your final lab is due today. We are watching a movie in class, about which there will be an extra credit quiz to encourage you to watch the movie and pay attention.

I will take everything else, like missing work, labs, and test retakes, until Thursday. Unfortunately I will not be here on Thursday due to graduation practice, but you can still put stuff in the basket to turn it in. If you need to take a test on Thursday, email me (miss.volkening@gmail.com) so I know to come back to school after grad practice. We have a half day, so that is an option.

AP Review

Here are some old AP test questions to practice/review for your AP Physics 1 test.

AP Physics 1 FRQs with answers (all previous tests)

AP Physics B was the class/test before our current class. It was discontinued about 4 years ago. Its questions may be useful for study purposes, but they do not really reflect the type of questions you will see on the AP Physics 1 test. The ones after about 2009 fit better than older ones, though. AP B also covered more content than we do now, so some of these questions are irrelevant.
